When is E-counseling Not Appropriate?

E-counseling is not an appropriate form of therapy if you are suffering from any serious mental health issue. This could include, but is not limited to, conditions such as:

  • Severe depression

  • Schizophrenia

  • Bipolar disorder

  • Severe Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

  • Personality disorders

  • If you are in danger of hurting yourself or others


These situations require more immediate care. You need to be able to work with someone who can be physically present for and with you.

It is important for you to make face to face contact with a counselor who can support you more intensely than can be done in an on-line situation.
